For many nutraceuticals, significant translational scientific study is still required to determine their safety and show that they are effective in both people and animals.

Although obesity and metabolic disorders are still a major global public health issue, there will soon be a market for nutraceutical products that treat these conditions. So, it is expected that molecular mining in the nutraceutical industry will continue in the near future. Although there is an expanding quantity of proof-of-concept literature using different animal models, there are still only a few number of significant, high-quality clinical trials. Mechanistic data is frequently exploratory and preliminary in character. To completely prove the medicinal legitimacy of several of these materials, significantly more translational research is necessary given the current situation.
